Affiliate Marketing as a way to online business success is a precarious model. Why do I say that? Because the cost of entry is so low and because to really succeed you need to do the things that advanced marketers do to get traffic and sales.
Most newbie affiliate marketers give up all to soon because they’ve made no real money, blame the merchant for their failure, and then move on to the “next big thing.” When they fail with that, the cycle is repeated, often times over and over until they totally give up. And that’s why affiliate marketing can suck.
There is a better way. To do well as an affiliate you need targeted traffic. Then you need to build an email list with the traffic. Repeat, you need to capture names and email addresses for further follow up. And let’s not forget, you need a converting offer. If it doesn’t convert, you won’t get paid.
So to make your affiliate marketing NOT SUCK:
- Find a converting affiliate offer in a profitable niche.
- Drive traffic to an optin page which captures their information.
- After they sign up (or not) redirect them to your affiliate offer.
- Use the email list to contact them over and over about the original offer AND other related offers
After a while you have a targeted list, you’ve made some money promoting the original offer and other related offers, and things don’t SUCK. Now you can really take this process to the next step: your own product to sell to the niche you have selected.
If you’re failing at affiliate marketing, ask yourself if your affiliate marketing process sucks. I’ll bet the answer is yes. Above you’ll find a simple outline of how to make it work. Follow it for a while and your affiliate marketing will start working.
