Kevin Riley vs Jeff Walker

Traffic No Comments

This morning Kevin Riley reminded me that he covered a lot of ground in his Recipe For Driving Heavy Traffic to Your Sales Page.

Since the price is less than ten bucks I think it kinda kicks Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula’s butt. And, unlike Jeff’s, Kevin’s course is still available.

It provides great information on using eBay Classifieds, just the thing for disenfranchised digital sellers using eBay. And that’s just one of the many traffic getting methods.

And then there’s the price, not $1997.00, but less than ten bucks.

Ebay Classified Ads for Digital Downloads

Traffic No Comments

Ebay has eliminated sales and auctions of digitally downloaded products via stores, auctions, and buy-it-nows. You can still sell digitally delivered products via their classified ad system.

So how is that going to work? I have to admit I’m not sure. I have to admit I’ve never placed an eBay classified.

But Kevin Riley reminded me this morning that he covered the eBay classified technique as just one of the many proven tactics in Driving Heavy Traffic to Your Sales Pages.

It’s a can’t miss No-Brainer for less than ten bucks.

Ebay Bans Sale of Digital Goods

eBay No Comments

Effective March 31, 2008 Ebay has effectively banned the listing of digitally delivered goods. There will be no listings for digitally delivered auctions, buy-it-nows, or eBay store listings.

They do still allow listing digitally delivered goods via their classified ads format, but this is a way to sweep digital sales under the rug, as classified ads provide no feedback to buyer or seller. Any sale takes place outside the eBay framework. Ebay classified ads also are prohibitively expensive, starting at $9.95 for a 30 day listing.

You can read about the new eBay policy here.

What does this mean for sellers of digitally delivered products?

  1. They will have to sell a physical product such as cd or dvd.
  2. They will have to mail the product to the customer.
  3. Automated delivery will not be possible.
  4. The ability to use cheap ebooks as lead generators is all but over.

Users of Kunaki and other cd/dvd printing services can of course ship via the automated procedures at their service. More on this later.

Lesson:

Never count on one online method for all your sales and traffic. For digital product sellers, eBay has just shown us why.

Automating Online Business Procedures

Strategy No Comments

If you are one of those people (like me) who don’t seem to have enough time to do all the tasks and procedures involved in having an effective, money making, online business, automation becomes a necessity.

Time is the most limiting factor in a one person online business. Automating procedures saves you immense amount of time and will multiply your results. It’s almost like a gift really, because not only do you save time, your business grows while you save that time.

Generally business automation is accomplished through effective use of software tools. For example, this web site is published using WordPress. I don’t have to do anything to create a page for this article other than write it from within the dashboard, format it as I go, make a category selection, and hit the publish button. So to a great extent, my web site publishing is automated.

I use Aweber to manage my email lists. One tool, multiple lists for different web sites.

I use Kavi Kodiraj’s eBizABC to run most other functions of my online business from one dashboard. I can manage all my products, create PayPal code for each product individually, hide and time limit my download pages, create tracking codes, and have an affiliate program like the one at ClickDen.com.

eBizABC has an autoresponder tool also, I just prefer Aweber for most of my lists, though I do automatically sign up new customers to customer-only lists at ebizABC.

Article submission is one of my favorite ways to increase traffic to my sites. I’ve had a chance to get James Brausch’s Artemis Pro article submission software, and will be putting that to use to automate that portion of my business.
