My Social Marketing Experiment Took Traffic Up Thirty Per Cent

Social marketing is the buzz now. But does it work? Here are the July results for my social marketing traffic project for the site you are on right now, Marketing No Brainers. These are straight from my AWStats for July 2008.

  1. Web Site Unique Visitors - Up 35%
  2. Number of Visits - Up 30%
  3. Pages Viewed - Up 20%

In addition, I ran a Google Analytics report last week that showed traffic from all social marketing resources was now 42% of my total traffic. So obviously social marketing works for getting traffic.

I’m delighted to know that such great results were had from something that is essentially fun, as that is how I designed my social marketing traffic project to be. The method I’m using is extremely simple, and I’ll be releasing a free report to all subscribers on the exact how-to in a few days.     Traffic is one thing. What about sales of product or services?

    For some of our clients. Traffic costs more than it’s worth since it produces interest from people who don’t have money. This means time wasted and money wasted.

    Care to comment?

    Can you provide more details?

    Yes I agree with you. But this site isn’t a sales letter site. And essentially you are commenting before I’ve done my full analysis report, which if you read the above, is in the works.

    This social media traffic resulted from social “conversations” with other people in this niche, Internet Marketing. My intention was to create more targeted traffic from social media sites where people have chosen to follow what I have to say.

    I haven’t quantified new rss and email subscribers yet, and will do so as part of the yet to be written report.
