Be Your Own Internet Marketing Guru

Thanks for returning. Did you know that, in addition to the 110 Website Conversion Tips report, there are regular email subscriber-only discounts and bonuses? All you have to do to get started is enter your email into the form over there on the right.

Who’s your favorite Internet marketing guru? Is there someone – anyone? – that actually helped you learn what you needed to know to make money online? Or maybe you’ve not made any money at all and are still looking for the next big secret from the newest star marketing guru of the week.

A couple of years ago I came to the conclusion that the Internet Marketing arena was already overloaded. But now it is an order of magnitude worse. Everywhere you look there’s a new guru showing you “the way” to your online fortune. Give me a break. But more importantly give yourself a break. How?

Take action. Somewhere along the taking action path you’ll find out what it is you need to know. When the time is right, the right thing usually appears. I know it sounds like a cliche, but it has worked that way for me.

So I am serious when I say be your own Internet marketing guru.

What do I mean by this? Become your own guru? I mean that by taking focused action, actually doing something like is taught in the  Product Review Blog course, or by putting together your own product to sell, or even by selling a physical product on eBay or Amazon.

By taking action you will learn what you don’t know as you go along. Then it is a simple matter to say no to the latest bright and shiny guru. You will actually understand what it actually is that you need right now.

And if you’re totally lost about where to start then get Willie Crawford and crew’s 20 Ways to Make $100 Per Day Online and pick something that seems doable. Then just do whatever you pick. It was written by real people who actually did what they wrote about. Imagine that.

Be your own marketing guru and save a lot of pain, frustration, and money.

Hey Lowell, I’m with you 100%.

That said my favorite “guru’s” are James Brausch and Ryan Deiss LOL. (Have you seen Ryan’s Total Access Club membership site? It’s AMAZING.)

Both James and Ryan DO IT. I look at their stuff, and act.

It took me a while to learn to pick a plan and focus. It’s so easy to procrastinate by trying to learn every dang method out there.

But after a decade you finally learn :)

    Hi Lowell, my blip buddy!

Glad I found your site. Looks like you cover a variety of topics. I subscribed to your newsletter.

I was reading some of Seth Godin’s books yesterday. I have several from Twitter that I follow. All have something to offer. I also like the market strategies of Celestial Seasonings, Zingerman’s, and Ben and Jerry’s. Yesterday in Godin’s book, I read about Threadless t-shirt company and how they don’t do any other ads but their website. Interesting.

    Stephen,

Thanks for your input. I do follow James Brausch and a group I do web work for is pretty tight with Ryan and Perry. Like the new look of your blog and have been meaning to get over and make some comments if the work ever stops.

    Brenda -

Blip buddy, that’s a good one. Really nice to get to know you on Blip, Twitter, Facebook, and now here.

Seth Godin and Mark Joyner plus some imagination and you’ve got about all you need. They are both about getting onto your customer’s mind.

    Stop by more often please,

    Lowell

    Lowell,

You are definitely one of my favorite “gurus”! Over the years I have learned to trust your knowledge and guidance. Thank you. Outside of you, I love reading anything Brad Callen has written in the past and he always put out, and stands by, great products you can trust. Also by your own referral, Andy Williams.

Aw shucks, thanks. But you know I make no claims to being a guru about anything. Lifelong learner describes me better.
