Say No to Duvet Dollars

Adwords & PPC, How To Courses, Recommendations No Comments

Quite a few Internet Marketers are promoting Duvet Dollars. It’s one of those mystery offers, also known as a blind offer, because the sales page makes no mention of what it actually is that you’re buying.

Duvet Dollars is about making money by using Adwords and other Pay Per Clicks to promote affiliate products. Where have we heard that before? Can we spell Google Cash?

I always default to the experts in Adwords. And the best expert I know is Perry Marshall.

So instead of wasting $77 on Duvet Dollars, get with Perry Marshall and really learn how Adwords works for affiliate marketing, or any kind of marketing for that matter.

Replacing the Overture Search Tools

Adwords & PPC, SEO 1 Comment

The Inventory tool at Overture seems to have died, and Overture has announced that they won’t be replacing or maintaining it. The autobots that fed on this data are partly to blame.

The Overture Bid tool still worked fine last time I tried it. So the value of a search term is still easy to find. But to get data on searched numbers you’re going to need another tool.

So what’s a PPC buyer to do?

Here’s a short list of alternatives:

The Trellian Keyword Discovery Site

Nichebot Classic

Niche Taxi

MSN Ad Center

Google Adwords Tool

Wordtracker’s free tool

Brad Callen’s Adwords Made Easy

Brad Callen Has Done It Again

Regular readers know that I think highly of Perry Marshall
and his Definitive Guide to Google Adwords.

Now Search Engine expert Brad Callen has entered the fray with his Adwords Made Easy. Great work as usual from Brad. 85 pages chock a block with good useful information. This just might be the best introduction to Google Adwords yet.

The best part of this is that you can get this for free. There’s some promotion in the book for one of Brad’s excellent paid products. So, he’s giving this away in the hopes that you will click one of the links.

Click here to download the book in zip format.

You can read it online if you have the Adobe reader by clicking here. It might take a while to load into your browser though. Make sure you save it if you read it in your browser.

It is easy to waste a bunch of money at Adwords, and at Overture too, if you don’t put all these techniques into practice.

Take this book and run with it!

Niche Topic Research Site

Niche Topic Research Site

I have been following Charles Heflin’s SEO2020 site for about a month. This site is a must visit for anyone who is thinking about jumping into the niche web site development arena.

He’s recently added a multi-faceted tool for Niche Topic Analysis.

Now I make no bones about the fact that I think developing sites JUST for Google Adsense is a recipe for long term failure. And to be truthful, Mr. Heflin’s model is basically an Adsense model. But there is one key difference. His plan gets you to develop a content web site first. He wants you to build a content site with no Adsense, or really any outbound money links on it. That’s step one.

Step two is to get that website listed in as many high PR directories as possible for a month or so.

Step three is to then put the money links on the site. Adsense included. Google will start ranking your pages from all the inbound links.

Step four is to then write articles for more inbound links.

Step five is to do a new site page every week so the site grows naturally. After a year, maybe sooner, each site making $10 to $15 a day with Adsense.

Then repeat the process every week for a year. Take a 4 week break, or 4 one week breaks. Doesn’t matter. You end up with 48 sites, all making money.

Why is this better than slapping up a bunch of Adsense-ready template websites? Well, one reason is that there is no duplicate content. A second reason, and this is way more important, is that this method of site building is what Google expects to see in a natural, human based site building progression. It doesn’t throw up any red flags.

Even better is that if Adsense goes the way of the banner ad, whatever comes along to replace it can go on your sites. My twist on this is that you must plan your site design to make this an easy task.

Lots of other great stuff at Charles Heflin’s SEO2020 site. This isn’t an affiliate plug, just a link to a great resource we all can benefit from. Well deserved 5 star No Brainer.

That’s today’s Marketing No Brainer.
