Cool Free Tool Checks Headline Quality

Copy Writing, Recommendations No Comments

This cool free tool checks your headline for quality. It doesn’t matter if it’s a blog post, an email subject line, an article title, or a website header. You need a quality headline to get your readers’ attention.

Now of course you need to test your headline to see how it converts with actual humans, but the headline checker from the Advanced Marketing Institute gives you a starting point. The English language averages around 20% of what are called EMV words, which stands for Emotional Marketing Value.

Remember, people buy with their emotions, and justify their purchases with logic. Professional copywriters usually score about 30 to 40% EMV words in their headlines. The most gifted copywriters score 50 to 75% EMV words in their headlines. The headline of this post scored 83.33% for quality.

What’s the secret to that? Shorter headlines most always score better. And I played around with the headline quality checker for a long time to get a headline with that score.

But that doesn’t mean that shorter headlines will work better, except of course in an email marketing subject line, where the goal is to get the email opened. Testing and tracking are the ways to tell. But using this free tool gives you a baseline ad headline that should be far and away better than your non-optimized best guess first headline attempt.

So use this free Headline Quality Tool and see your conversion rates increase.
